The government of South Korea has announced that social distancing regulations will continue until after the Lunar New Year Holiday in order to curb a re-spread of the COVID-19 virus. For this reason, Korea4Expats is not posting our usual list of What's Open and Closed. We are also still not posting the movie listings for Seoul, Busan, Daejeon and Daegu until the restrictions are lifted.
The implementation of level 2.5 social distancing measures in Seoul metropolitan area (level 2 for other regions) is extended for until February 14th. This means:
- No gatherings at entertainment facilities
- Only take-out and delivery services for restaurants after 9PM
- Eating is permitted until 9PM in cafes as well as in restaurants
- Suspension of operations after 9PM for indoor sports facilities, movie theaters, internet cafes, barber shops, beauty salons, study rooms
- Leaving middle seats empty in performance halls
- Suspension of operations after 9PM for supermarkets, stores and department stores (for facilities larger than 300m2)
- Less than 50 persons allowed in the events such as weddings and funerals.
