Can anyone give me an idea of where to buy knitting wool in Seoul. I don't live there so please could you include the nearest subway stop. The other option is to order online?

Thanks

One of the best places to get everything for knitting / tailoring is Tongdaemun market.
Stretching from Chongno 5 Ga Street to East Gate it is a heaven for everything you need to make your own stuff .
It has its own subway station called Dongdaemun (Market) station.
It can be reached by several bus lines and even many hotels in Seoul offer shuttle buses to the market.
Every taxi driver knows the place so you will find it from wherever you try to reach it.
You will be happy to know that it opens late morning (around 10.00 am) and does not close until early morning - depending on the shop it can be 6.00 am the next day!). A lot of tailors and fashion dealers from inside and outside Seoul go there to cover their needs.
Plan in a lot of time - it is huge. Happy buying!!!

I've seen knitting wool and supplies in the arcade of Gangnam station. The place is a bit of a maze, but I think it was near exit 3 - near the nail place. It can get pretty hot down there so where something cool - like ice packs! Good luck.

In Dongdaemun (Tongdaemun) you need to go to the basement of the fabric market - that is the large 5/6 storey building to the left of the gate if you look at it with your back to the Chongyechung stream.

It has its own carpark outside.
