IGVC-Korean Language Classes, Classes from 1 Apr 2019, Yongsan-gu, Seoul


 
DATE: Tests/Registration in March / Classes begin week of Monday 01 April 2019 and run for 10 weeks
TIME: See below for test times / Class times/dates according to level
COST: Classes are free / Students must purchase the textbook
VENUE: Itaewon Global Village Center, Room 504 Hannam Bldg., 211 Itaewon-ro (5F Hannam Bldg., 737-37 Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul

DESCRIPTION: The classes are open to foreign residents, aged 18 and over, who have an ARC or SOFA stamps that does not expire prior to 14 June 2019. Class schedule attached. Note that taking the test does not guarantee you a spot. Visit the center during the registration day (see dates below). No reservations required. Just drop by the center and take the test. Test consists of speaking part and writing part. It will take about 30~45 mins.

TESTS/REGISTRATION:
Absolute Beginner 1-1 & 1-2 ONLY: Lucky Draw Registration Wednesday 27 March
For those who have never studied Korean or only know some words but cannot form sentences yet. 
Registration:  Selection by 'lucky draw'. Center will open at 9AM. Numbers will be handed out from 9-9:10AM. Doors will be locked at exactly 9:10. No number will be assigned after that time as the draw will then begin.

Absolute Beginners 2 to Intermediate 2: Registration Thursday 28 March
Registration: from 9AM on a First-come-first-served basis

Level Test: hose who have studied Korean language before / those who want to register for Absolute Beginner 2 – Intermediate 2 classes:
Test: 11-26 March from 9-11AM and 1-5PM. Note that taking the test does not guarantee a spot in the class. You will still need to visit the center on registration day (above).
No reservations required to take the test, which takes about 30-45 minutes. Bring your ARC, diplomat passport or passport with SOFA stamp.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: Applicants must bring their ARC (must not be expiring before 14 June 2019) with them. SOFA members can bring their passport showing the SOFA stamp, while diplomats may bring either their diplomatic passport or diplomat ID card. Open to foreign residents aged 18 and over only/ not open to foreign visitors. Registration must be done in person by the individual enrolling in the class. 

DIRECTIONS: Come out exit #2 of Itaewon Station (Line#6, Stop 630), walk straight 200m, and look for the Hannam Building which has a 7-Eleven convenience store on the first floor. The center is on the 5th floor of that building.
