Volunteer Opportunities Around Korea

SUWON & ANSAN, GYEONGGI-DO
PROGRAM REACH - Suwon and Ansan, Gyeonggi-do
Suwon program is a volunteer initiative run by Suwon's expatriate community. Members of REACH teach conversational English to the higher elementary and middle school students at an orphanage located near the Suwon Sports Complex. Each volunteer teaches 2 or 3 students. Classes are held every Sunday from 3-4PM and every Wednesday from 7-8PM. For more information or to volunteer: programmereach@gmail.com
Ansan program volunteers teach English at a North Korean child-care center located near Sangroksu Station (line 4 - Seoul Subway). Classes are held every Saturday from 2-3:30 PM. Tutors can volunteer every other Saturday or twice a month. For more information or to volunteer, please email: programmereach@gmail.com
TKNR (Teach North Korean Refugees) helps North Korean refugees improve their language and job skills with volunteer tutors. Minimum requirement: three months, twice a month. KAPS (Korean Animal Protection Society) is an animal rescue shelter and education centre in Daegu. Volunteers regularly get together to groom the animals, walk the dogs, clean the shelter, and more. To learn more about the group and how you can volunteer to help, see the group's Facebook page.
