Busan Taxi Service
General Taxi: These taxis can be flagged on the street. They can also be found at taxi stands around the city. You can tell the cab is available if the red light on top of the vehicle is turned on. The basic fare is W3,300 (as of 2019) with additional charges added after the first 2km - 143m/100 won. From midnight, a late hour premium of 20% will also be charged.
Deluxe (Mobeom) Taxi: These cabs are black with a yellow sign on top and are generally found at the airport, hotels and tourist attractions. The basic fare is W4,500 per 3km and can be paid by credit card. There is no late night premium.
Jumbo taxis are deluxe taxi can accommodate up to 10 passengers or fewer people with lots of luggage. The fare is the same as for deluxe taxis.
These taxis – Deungdae Call Taxi and Busan Call Taxi - offer a call service where one can telephone for pick-up. (Note: Operators may speak only Korean – see special interpretation numbers below). They can also be flagged on the street. Credit card or cash payment accepted. These taxis will give a receipt for cash payments.
Deungdae Call Taxi can be recognized by its orange strip and cab light. Their call center number is 051-600-1000. The fare is the same as a General Taxi. An interpretation service (English, Chinese, Japanese and Russian) is available with Deungdae – call 1330 (Korea Tourism Helpline).
Busan Call Taxi has a light blue strip and cab light. The fare is also the same as that of general taxis. Call Center number is 051-200-2000.
Most, if not all, drivers accept credit card payments. Always get a receipt for all the usual security reasons, but also in case you forget something in the taxi or need to follow-up on that ride for some reason.
