Daegu Taxi Service

Corporate taxis are the most common taxis in Daegu and can be identified by the blue cap on the roof. When the taxi is free, the light in the cap is turned on as is the red light on the roof.
Personal taxis are privately owned and have a green cap on the roof. The cap as well as the red light on the roof are turned on when the taxi is empty and available for hire.
Corporate and personal taxis can be flagged on the street or hired at taxi stands around the city.
Basic fare as of 2019 is W3,300 for the first 2km with an additional cost of about W700 per additional km.
Daegu also has a call taxi service (Hanmaeum Call Taxi). There is a an additional fee for ordering a call taxi and a Korean speaker is likely to be needed. Tel: 053-424-1111.
In common with other cities around Korea, taxis come equipped with a free interpretation service. If that doesn't work, passengers can contact the Korea Tourism helpline at 02-1330 (available 24/7 in English, Chinese and Japanese plus Korean).
