Following are some of the expressons associated with Chuseok:
Chuseok – 추석 (Korean harvest/moon festival)
Hangawi – 한 가외 (traditional term for Chuseok)
Josang – 좃상 (ancestor)
Charye – 차례 (ancestor homage/respect ritual)
Seunmyo – 성묘 (the act of visiting ancestors’ tomb/grave)
Beolcho – 벚초 (cleaning of tomb & offering of food/drink as a sign of filial piety)
Songpyeon – 송변 (special Chuseok half-moon shaped rice cake)
Hepssal – 햅쌀 (freshly harvested first rice of the year)
Hetgwail – 햇과일 (freshly picked fruit)
Hanbok – 한복 (traditional Korean clothing)
Gang-gangsuwollae – 강깅수얼래 (women’s traditional circle dance)
Goh yang – 고향 (ancestral/hometown to which people return for Chuseok)
Mae jin – 매진 (sold out as in train/plain seats before Chuseok)
