The Holiday Season is fast approaching along with a cold and bitter winter. We at TARTINE Bakery & Cafe have the heater cranked up and we are offering hot beverages and comfort desserts along with our new savory Beef Pot Pies (win a 2-for-1 certificate for our beef pie white plate special) and Lava Cake, all in our cozy café atmosphere.
 
This will be our second Holiday Season in Itaewon and we are excited to continue traditions started last year.  Festive decorations will be up by the 1st of December, seasonal music will be played all day, every day as a soft background.  TARTINE Bakery & Cafe will be the perfect place to meet with friends and family or to just have a private moment.
 
Our operating hours will remain the same, 10am to 10:30pm, 7 days a week.  We will be open however, until 11pm on December 24th .
 
We will also offer our large [20cm – 8inch] pies ‘ready made’ on December 24th and 25th:
Pecan Pie
Cherry
Chocolate Cream
Apple
Pumpkin Cream Pie
 
Our alley has been resurfaced with asphalt and it has done a lot to make our area look better.  We have ordered and we will take delivery shortly of our new 2m long by 1.9m high showcase.  We have outgrown our old showcase and our new one will allow us to offer more varieties of pies.  Our new showcase is a goal come true for us, our Christmas present to us.  But you, our customers have made it all possible.
 
Our staff members will be working extra hard to provide all of our delicious items and the best possible service to you, our valued customers.

You can choose the DARK CHOCOLATE BEVERAGE - a thick and rich beverage  for chocolate lovers only!  Chef Garrett crushes 76% dark Belgium chocolate and then mixes it with French Brute Cocoa, a bit of sugar and vanilla to create decadence in a cup.  Our staff then mixes in hot milk to melt the chocolate to smooth out the mixture, then it is all re-heated and served.  Our classic NY Cheesecake or Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake are perfect companions. Our DRINKING CHOCOLATE is  the same recipe that Chef Garrett’s mother made for him on cold wet and windy winter days in Portland , Oregon when he was a child.  Now Chef Garrett uses wonderful imported ingredients to re-create this delicious memory.  French Brute Cocoa, sugar, vanilla and milk, so simple but oh so luscious in its richness and flavor.  
 
You might want to try our DUTCHED COFFEE. Luke loves dark coffee, but he didn’t like the bitterness of Americano Coffee made with an espresso base so he developed this unique brew for us. First, Luke uses a course ground coffee and soaks the grounds in cool filtered water for 12 hours.  The mixture is then filtered to remove all the coffee grounds.  What is left is a strong coffee concentrate which is added to hot or cold water at the time it is ordered by our customers.
 
Our DUTCHED COFFEE does not have the acid and none of the bitterness of a strong brewed coffee.  The bold and distinctive taste of the coffee comes through with a softness that is unexpected.  After you have sampled Luke’s creation, you may never go back to an Americano Coffee again.  We also offer our DUTCHED COFFEE as a Latte.
