Kathy, avolunteers at asan Shelter, sent me an update today for Asan Shelter. I will give you the good news first. "Zara went to foster care, as did Isu (I think his foster mom might adopt him~~), a kitty also went to foster care. Charis took Kron and a Schnauzer which she has named Lucy for fostering as well." Now, the 'not so good' news - "Due to the lack of quarantine, plus an exceptionally cold winter with not enough prep or comfort for the dogs, too many have gotten sick... this has cost ARK a lot, and we are now facing a debt situation. We will be having an event soon, I estimate we will need a few million soon, to pay for the Distemper family."
I know we just had people reach into their pockets to get blankets and dog houses to get the animals warmer and the good news there is no more fatalities! However, it is urgent that donations be made to cover the huge vet bills that volunteers are paying for right now at vets. Please email Laura-Claire at
lccorson@gmail.com as to how you can donate to Asan Shelter. Thank you in advance for your donation.
Laura-Claire and Kathy will not be organizing weekly trips at this time, due to the distemper concern. We will still accept adoption and foster forms, but err on the side of caution and let people know the risks.
