I've read the pages on this website concerning recycling, but I still have a few questions. 
1.  The website says that certain plastic containers should have numbers on them, which indicates where or how they should be recycled.  Where do you find those numbers?
2.  My landlord told me that the recycling for our high rise apartment is Wednesday at 3:00.  Does this mean that they pick up the recycling then, and we should have our recycling out before that time?

Well are88, I have no idea about your apartment recycling, but yes can answer your first question. Most of the plastic products like bottles, canes etc are assigned with a specific number specially at there bottom assigned according to its property and method of recycling. Number 1 plastic products include PET such as Soft drink bottles, 2 is of HDPE plastics such as water pipes and so on.... thus it helps in distinguishing recycling techniques used to recycle them!! Why don't you just clarify with your landlord? Or, ask a neighbor in the same building for help. If you look at the plastic and packaging, you'll see either a number or letters in black, in a black triangle - letters like PET or HDPE, LDPE which are abbreviations for the type of plastic (e.g. low density polyethylene).

You should ask you landlord about when to put out the recycling.  Generally all garbage is put out before it is picked up.  In our neighborhood we put it out the night before but I live in a villa.

I lived in an apt complex.  There was an area for garbage in general.  On recycling days in addition to the usual "garbage" and food waste bins there were bins for various recycling like glass, plastic, metal, cardboard, cardboard containers, newpapers.  It was pretty obvious what went where.  If you weren't sure the gaurd (doorman, kyungbee ajashi) posted to the building was always there to help.  When the recycling time was over the bins would disappear.  

If your landlord can't answer call your broker.  Part of their fee is to help you with these types of issues.
