Seoul Intl Hikers-Jirisan Day Trip, Sat 28 Apr 2018, Jeollabuk-do

DESCRIPTION:  This coming Saturday, Seoul International Hikers will go on a day trip to enjoy the beauty of blooming azaleas as the group hikes  hike up the peak called Baraebong in Jiri mountain, the second highest mountain in Korea.  The group will move to Namwon first to see a traditional garden related to the most famous Korean love story and then hike Baraebong. Baraebong is a mountain of Mt. Jiri in Jeollabuk-do, western South Korea. It has an altitude of 1165 meters presenting nice view of the highlands of Mt. Jiri as well as a carpet of thousands of royal azaleas each spring. Click here for a view of the spring splendour. 

REGISTRATION:  If you plan to participate in this hike, please email sihclub@gmail.com  with your full name and  cell phone number ASAP as there is a limited number of seats available.  If you are new to the group, please provide your basic contact information (such as work/mobile phone numbers, working place) beforehand in case of emergency.

PICK-UP POINTS: The group will travel by chartered bus. 
6:20 AM: Outside Exit 8 of Dongdaemun Cultural Sports subway Station (Lines 2 or 4)
6:45 AM: Outside Exit 1 of Sadang Station (Line 2 or 4)
6:55 AM: Outside Exit 9 of Yangjae station Line 3)
7:20 AM: Outside Exit 1 of Bokjung station (Line 8 and Bundang Line).

SIHC NOTE. SIHC strongly recommends that participants wear good hiking shoes and be prepared for a range of possible weather conditions. For instance, you may want to pack a raincoat, a waterproof hiking jacket and an extra pair of socks and T-shirt in a plastic (Ziploc) bag, as well as a light snack (sandwiches and fruits) and a bottle of mineral water for you to drink during your hike. 

CANCELLATION POLICY: SIHC does not cancel hikes due to inclement weather. Coordinators of the hikes will go to the meeting place and try to arrange an alternative activity (like a safer walk) if hiking is not possible. Participants are not obligated to attend the changed schedule.
