DESCRIPTION:  This coming Saturday, Seoul International Hikers will hike on Gwanggyosan (582 meters) in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, starting from Kyonggi University (not Kyunghee University), covering one peak, Hyeongjebong. The group will hike about 7 kilometers, which is expected to take 4-5 hours.  Gwanggyosan is one of the eight beauties of Suwon, a city known for her UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, the Hwaseong Fortress.

REGISTRATION: If you plan to participate in this hike, please email sihclub@gmail.com  by Friday 5PM with your full name and contact details so that organisers know how many people to expect. Newcomers to the group should also add basic contact information (such as work/mobile phone numbers, working place) in case of emergency.

SIHC NOTE. SIHC strongly recommends that participants wear good hiking shoes and be prepared for a range of possible weather conditions. You may also want to bring a light snack (sandwiches and fruits) for your lunch and a bottle of mineral water for you to drink during your hike.  (Hat, scarf, gloves, warm jacket and trousers are essential.)

CANCELLATION POLICY: SIHC does not cancel hikes due to inclement weather. Coordinators of the hikes will go to the meeting place and try to arrange an alternative activity (like a safer walk) if hiking is not possible. Participants are not obligated to attend the changed schedule.

GETTING THERE: Note that it takes a full hour to reach Suwon by subway from downtown and the group will meet upstairs in the railway station (not the subway station). Seoul (64 minutes from Seoul City Hall, 57 minutes from Yongsan, and 44 minutes from Sindorim stations respectively on the regular subway Line 1).*

* For those new to Seoul, Line 1 connects two different satellite cities with the capital and its meeting point is Guro station in southwest of Seoul. One route carries on going west towards Incheon, the sea port, and the other heads south towards Suwon, Byeongjeom, Cheonan and Sinchang. Therefore, taking the subway, you need to make sure that you are on a subway for the latter: Suwon, Byeongjeom, Cheonan or Sinchang.
If you are on a train for or from Incheon, you have to transfer at Guro.

There are also (red) inter-city buses for Suwon Station at Gangnam, Yangjae, or Sadang stations in south Seoul.
