DATE: Saturday 25 November 2017
TIME: Meet at 10:30 AM
COST: No participation fee / Each person will pay for her/his own meal after the hike (optional)
VENUE: MeetSuwon Station, Line 1, (near Exit 1, on the upper level of the station)

DESCRIPTION:  This coming Saturday, Seoul International Hikers will hike on Gwanggyosan (582 meters) in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, starting from Kyonggi University (not Kyunghee University), covering one peak, Hyeongjebong. The hike is about 7 kilometers and should take about four to five hours to complete the day's event. Gwanggyosan is one of the eight beauties of Suwon, a city known for her UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, the Hwaseong Fortress.

REGISTRATION: If you plan to participate in this hike, please email sihclub@gmail.com by Friday 5PM so that the organisers can have an idea of how many people to expect. If this is your first time participating in a SIH hike, you should also add the following information: your employer/company name and phone number as well as your cell number.

GETTING THERE: The group will meet upstairs in the waiting area of Suwon Station near Exit number 1. (not subway station but railroad station upstairs). It takes a full hour to reach Suwon by subway from downtown Seoul.
For example: Seoul (64 minutes from Seoul City Hall, 57 minutes from Yongsan, and 44 minutes from Sindorim stations respectively on the regular subway Line 1).
NB: If you are new to Seoul, Line 1 connects two different satellite cities with the capital and its meeting point is Guro station in southwest of Seoul. One route carries on going west towards Incheon, the sea port, and the other heads south towards Suwon, Byeongjeom, Cheonan and Sinchang. Therefore, taking the subway, you need to make sure that you are on a subway for the latter: Suwon, Byeongjeom, Cheonan or Sinchang.
If you are on a train for or from Incheon, you have to transfer at Guro.
There are also (red) inter-city buses for Suwon Station at Gangnam, Yangjae, or Sadang stations in south Seoul.

SIHC NOTE. SIHC strongly recommends that participants wear good hiking shoes and be prepared for a range of possible weather conditions. For instance, you may want to pack a raincoat, a waterproof hiking jacket and an extra pair of socks and T-shirt in a plastic (Ziploc) bag, as well as a light snack (sandwiches and fruits) for your lunch and a bottle of mineral water for you to drink during your hike.

CANCELLATION POLICY: SIHC does not cancel hikes due to inclement weather. Coordinators of the hikes will go to the meeting place and try to arrange an alternative activity (like a safer walk) if hiking is not possible. Participants are not obligated to attend the changed schedule.
