Sledding, Seoul and Gyeonggi
Sledding slopes/courses for both adults and children can be found in Seoul and in Gyeonggi-do. They are usually open from December to February (opening and closing dates vary from one year to the other).
SEOUL
Ttukseom Hangang Park: Every winter, the park covers its outdoor swimming pool and it becomes part of the park’s 35-meter sledding course. Security guards and medical personnel are on duty to provide help if needed. The park is open from 9AM to 6PM. until mid-February. Admission: W8,000 for all ages. Tel: 761-8204. Address: 427-1 Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Getting there: Take line 7 to Ttukseom Resort Station, Stop 728, Exits 2and 3.
Sangam Park is located at World Cup Park Pyeonghwa Square in Seongsan-2-dong, Mapo-Gu. Tel: 02-308-7442. Hours: 10AM to 10PM. Admission: W1,000/hour. Children under 4 y-o-a not admitted.
GYEONGGI-DO
Everland’s Snow Buster Park in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do offers three difference courses. The Jungfrau course is for kids and adults, the Munich course is for kids shorter than 120 centimeters and the new Eiger course is for thrill seekers. Hours: 10AM to 5PM Weekdays and 10AM to 6:30PM Saturdays, national holidays. Admission to Everland (includes entry to Snow Buster Park) W30,000 Adults, W25,000 HS and MS Students and W22,000 Children. Tel: 031-320-5000. Korean Folk Village Family Park offers a 130-meter-long adult course and an 80-meter-long children’s course. Hours: 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM Weekdays and 9:30 AM to 5 PM Weekends. Admission: W18,000 Adults, W15,000 Teens and W14,000 Children - includes entry to the Korean Folk Village. Sledders must be taller than 120 centimeters (3-foot-11) to enter. Tel: (031) 286-2111.
Seoul Land has both an adult and a children’s slope and also offers two kinds of sleds: tube sled and plastic sled. Open December to mid/end February. Hours 10AM to 5PM. Cost: Admission + Sledding Hill W18,000 Adults, W15,000 Teens and W13,000 Children. If already on-grounds, cost is W3,000. Getting there: Take subway line 4 to Seoul Grand Park Station, Stop 437, Exit 4. Walk straight for about 15-20 minutes.
