How to use: just dial "120" (02-120 from cellular phones and outside Seoul) and press "9" for foreign language services.

Hours:  9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday
(According to Seoul City, if you call before 9 a.m. or after 6 p.m., or over the weekend, you may make an appointment for operators to call you back during the business hours.)

Dasan 120 offers the following information services:

  • Tourism and tourist attractions
  • Restaurants (Korean and international cuisines)
  • Transportation (bus, subway, taxi, etc.)
  • Korean language schools & centers, and foreign schools in Seoul
  • Interpretation services

  • Daily living in Seoul and other inquiries about Seoul

(Note: since 120 is also the number for complaints about Seoul City services, you can make complaints about taxi drivers/service, etc. here).

What is meant by "Dasan" as in the name of this service 'Dasan 120'?

"Dasan" was the pen name of Jeong Yak-yong (1762-1836), a leading Korean philosopher during the Joseon Dynasty. He is commonly regarded as the greatest of the Silhak thinkers, who advocated that the formalist Neo-Confucian philosophy of Joseon return to practical concerns. Seoul City picked this name for the Seoul Call Center to show its commitment to delivering sincere and exceptional services to "citizen customers," based on Dasan's teaching.
