Transportation cards:
Two of the cards are pre-paid: the DaeGyeong Transportation Card (useable in and around Daegu) and the new Top Pass(useable in both Daegu & Seoul -and surounding areas). The prepaid Top Pass can be purchased at the Daegu Bank. The card itself costs 2,500 won. It must have money charged to it (up to a maximum of KRW 500,000) before it can be used. You can use this pre-paid Top Pass card at any store displaying the T-Money logo.  .
Note: the Top Pass card can be automatically recharged up to W10,000 when getting on a bus when the balance left on the card is less than W5,000. An account with Daegu Bank is required to be eligible for this top-up service. For more information, visit the Top Pass website (in Korean only) website or contact the Top Pass call center at 1577-8058. Information is also available at Daegu Bank branches (in Korean only at this time).

The other two cards are deferred-payment cards: the BC Card and the KB Card.  Bother cards may be used throught Korea on all forms of public transportation. They are essentially a credit card which can function as a transportation card, and they are available throughout Korea at any branch of the Daegu Bank.  Since it is a credit card, you need to submit proof of income to the bank.  For details of the deferred-payment BC Card, please call Daegu Bank at 053-740-2273.

Transfers: The Daegu subway system allows unlimited free transfers within 30 minutes from the time of getting off the first mode of public transportation. To use this system, you must swipe your card on the reader located at the rear exit doors of the bus.
