Motorcycle License
Getting a Motorcyle License is possible but can be a little complicated as there is no clear procedure regarding the requirements for issuing one to a non-Korean. The one thing that is clear is that you must first obtain a Korean (car) driver's license.
An expat, who has been through the process, has written the following: Go to the Dong Yang Driving school in Incheon (032-563-8123) and register for a motorcycle license. (You will need the help of a Korean-speaker when you call or visit them.) The fee is about W350,000 and you will have to pass a difficult driving test. There is a place to practice beforehand and a couple of motorcycles you can use. The test is given twice a month and most people do pass it on the first try. The school will tell you what documents you need to get your license (probably: your Korean driver’s license, alien registration card, passport pictures, a translation of your foreign motorcycle license and a document that shows when you arrived in Korea.Motorcycles are still not considered particularly respectable in Korea (although the image is changing) and they are not permitted on expressway and on certain bridges. At the moment, motorcycles are mainly used for delivery.
Note: Even though you may see people riding motorcycles - often quite fast - on the sidewalk, it is illegal to do so!
