Libraries for Children - Seoul, Taegu
SEOUL
Children’s English Library in Haebangchon (near Itaewon)
An English library for kindergarten and elementary school aged children was established in 2010 in Yongsandong2ga (aka Haebangchon). Registered residents of Yongsan-gu, including foreign nationals, can both use the library and borrow books. Non-residents can use the library but cannot borrow books.
Hours: 10am-7pm Monday to Friday and 10am-5pm on Saturdays
Closed for lunch from 12:30-1:30.
Directions: Top get to the library take the road that leads up into Haebangchon (from the kimchi pot store), and turn left at Kobawoo Supermarket. Take your first left and follow that road straight. Look for a white building with the library sign.

The National Library for Children and Young Adults is national library for children and adolescents located in Gangnam, Seoul. This library opened at the National Library Thesis Centam er in 2006. Hours:9am to 6pm Monday to Sunday.
Closed the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month as well as National Holidays.
Address: 635 Yeoksam-1-dong, Gangnam.
Directions: go out Gangnam Subway Station (line 2) Exit 8.

Some of the public libraries allow foreign residents to borrow books or use their facilities. There are children's sections in many of these with books in English. See the libraires page under Culture and Entertainment in the Activities section of this site.
DAEGU (asp TAEGU)
Modoo Library was opened in December 2010 to meet the needs of children from multi-cultural families. It is equipped with about 7,000 books and video materials from 10 countries including Indonesia, Phillippines, Russia and Vietnam.
To use: visit the library and fill out an application form. If over 18, bring your ID card. For those younger, the seal and idrenfication of their parents is required. An individual member can borrow up to 3 books for 7 days while a family is eligible to take 5 for the same period of time.
Hours: 10am-5pm.
Closed on national and special library holidays.
Location: 3rd Floor Bongdeok-e-dong Community Center
Directions: Buses Bus 349, 400, 452, 730 and Subway Circular line 3 will get you there
