Rock and Ice Climbing
ROCK CLIMBING:
Rock Climbing is available at several rock climbing gyms in Seoul and elsewhere on the peninsula. Korea offers a wide range of climbing options in natural settings. Artificial walls for practice and competition can also be found.
ENGLISH CLIMBING SCHOOLS:
Sanirang Alpine Networks is run by a fluent English speaker and offers a full program of climbing services including Open Climbing Clinics every Wednesday. They are located in the Seoul/Gyeonggi-do area.
ORGANISATIONS:
The Corea Alpine club (CAC) has a main office in Seoul and 12 branch offices around the country. The CAC Alpine School offers classes throughout the year. The website has basic information in English and Japanese. However, classes are mainly in Korean.
Kolon Climbing School offers training in ice and rock climbing. The website is in Korean only, however.
The Korean Alpine Federation also offers information on climbing schools around the peninsula. However, their website in in Korea only, as we assume, are the classes.
KoreaOnTheRocks.com (KOTR) is dedicated to providing information to foreign rock and ice climbers living in South Korea. The site lists over 125 climbing areas around the peninsula. There's pretty much something for everyone.
