Learning Programs for Children

Learning Programs for Chil...

Arts & crafts, art, dance, music and other short-term learning opportunities are available for children through both the private and public sectors in Seoul. Costs range from free on up. Following are some of these options:

Kids' Gallery is located in Hannam-dong and offers various art programs for both pre-school and school age children, including teens.  For more information on Kids' Gallery, click here.

National Museum of Art provides a variety of educational programs for children as well as a travelling exhibition service that goes around the country. Many of these programs are in Korea-only, but young children often adapt very well even when they don't understand the language. Moreover, there is likely to be someone with some English who can help.

Seoul National Science Museum is a an interested place to visit for both adults and children. It offers regular programs for students and special exhibitions tailored for a wide range of age groups, including children. It is located near exit 4 of Hyehwa Station on subway line 4. Tel: 02-3668-2200. For a map go to http://www.ssm.go.kr/eng/intro/sub03_layout.asp. The website offers some information in English.

Swimming Lessons:

Itaewon Elementary School has a pool that can be used by the public. They also offer swimming lessons. Call 798-9779 for more info (Korean-speaker probably). The school is located accross the way from Noksapyong Station (629) - directly accross the street from the elevator exit.

DYFitness: Located in the Gangnam area.  Swimming lessons available (including for babies and children).  Pool number 02 559 5114 (Korean speaker).
