Bring Your Current Driver's License
If you have a valid foreign license from your home country (list of accepted countries) then it is just a matter of exchanging your license for a Korean one. There are two places you can do this. One is at the Seoul Global Center (SGC) which has staff members on hand from the Driver’s License Agency (DLA). The other is at the DLA offices in Seoul.
You will have to bring certain documents with you: your foreign license, an embassy certificate (if your license was issued in the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Spain, Belgium, Poland, or Italy then you do not need this certificate), a translated and notarized copy of your license (unless it is in English), your passport and alien registration card, and three 3x4cm photos. Other documents may also be required if your license is not from your country of citizenship.
You will be required to get a physical exam which costs 5,000 won. This can only be done at designated clinics. There is a fee of 6,000 won for obtaining your Korean license and you must surrender your foreign one (you can get it back when you are leaving Korea by showing your passport and airline ticket).
