Bike Trail - Yangjecheon-gil-Gangnam
DESCRIPTION: The road from Jamsil along Yangjecheon Stream goes through Gangnam in Seoul, passing by the Seoul Sports Complex (Jamsil) and high-rise apartments, and stretching all the way to the Yangjae Citizens' Park. Though more of a city route than others, the road is well-paved, making for a smooth ride.
ROUTE: Start at the Jamsil Hangang Park and turn left past the Jamsil Stadium onto Yangjecheon-gil Road. After about 10 minutes you’ll come upon the wetland area (Hangnyeoul Ecology Park) where Yangjecheon and Tancheon streams meet. Past the small wetlands, you will high-rises apartments beyond the banks of Yangjecheon Stream.
The road ends at Yangje Citizen's Forest, which has plenty of groves or trees and bike paths for you to explore. The course from the Hangang Riverside Park in Jamsil District to Yangje Citizen's Forest is 7.5 kilometers long and takes about 1.5 hours.
DIRECTIONS: Departure: Jamsil Hangang Park
Seongne Station (Subway Line 2, Stop 215), Exit 3 or 4, 400m from exit.
Jamsil Station (Subway Line 2 or 8, Stops 216 and 814)), Exit 6, 800m from exit.
RENTAL: Bicycle rental: In front of Jamsil Ferry.
Cost: 3,000 won an hour (one-person bike) / 6,000 won an hour (two-person/tandem bike).
*You must leave a valid photo ID at the rental desk for the duration of your ride.
Hours: 09:00-19:00 (May-August) / 09:00-18:00 (March, April, September, October) / 09:00-17:00 (January, February, November, December)
