Easy Guide for Foreigners' Year-end Tax Settlement
The National Tax Service publishes the Easy Guide for Foreigners' Year-end Tax Settlement each year. You can find them in the tax offices, at expat information centers, in some banks, and on-line.
The document provides information, in English, on tax rules, examples of tax calculations and forms, answers to a range of frequently asked questions, information on tax exempted foreign employees, and lots more. There are also screen images showing the Korean and the English versions of the Simplified Year-end Tax Settlement website. The Guide also lists changes in the tax law for that tax year.
The Easy Guide for Foreigners' Year-end Tax Settlement is published in December of the tax year. For an online copy of the guide go to the National Tax Service website, look to the left to 2010 Year-end Tax Settlement and click on Easy Guide.
