Yes, there are a number of things you can do. None of these guarantee success however, so you may want to determine first if the root of the conflict lies in a cultural difference or misunderstanding. If it is, you should try to find another way to resolve the problem.
However, if you feel that it is not, you can first contact the Ministry of Labor explain your problem on-line. Or you can speak to someone directly by calling 1350 (press 7 for English).
You may also want to get legal advice. The Seoul Bar Association provides free consultation services on Mondays from 2 to 5 PM. You can reach them 02-3476-8080. To get to their office, go out exit 7 of the Seocho Subway Station (224) and look for the Hyundai Gas Station (the office is located behind the gas station). You can also visit the Korea Legal Aid Corporation or ask them questions on-line.
Some people have been satisfied with the services they’ve received from either or both of these sources; however, there are others who have not. In principle, foreign workers are entitled to the same protections as Korean citizens.
