Do I have to file an annual Korean tax return?
Yes, you should file a Korean tax return at the end of each year if you are earning wage income (for business income the filing deadline is 31 May). For more information visit the National Tax Service website: http://www.nts.go.kr. It’s in English and it’s full of helpful information, including an English Income Tax Guide booklet that you can download. Copies of the tax booklet are also available at your Embassy offices in Seoul and in the ombudsman center of tax offices around the country.
