Why do I have to pay more if I get on a taxi late at night?
Taxi fares increase by 20% after midnight. The basic fare for a regular taxi become W2880 from midnight to 4:00 a.m. It's a regulation not an arbitrary choice by the driver. Hard to say why the policy was adopted but it may have been as extra compensation for having to drive at night when many people are a little the worse for drink.
