I would like to switch phones. Will this cost me a lot?
It is possible and relatively easy to change servers or to replace your phone
If you're staying with the same server and just want to upgrade or get a new phone, you can easily do so. Everything stored in your current phone will then be transfered to your new one.
If you want to switch servers, that too is possible. About 4-5 years ago, you would have lost your telephone number as each system had it's own number (this is why you still still see 017, 019,and 011 cell phone prefixes). However, the government decided that consumers should be able to keep their own numbers and required the providers to go to the 010 number system.
If you are not a Korean national, you'll want to make sure that the new provider wants you or will treat you as well as or better than your current one.
