Security

I understand that Korea is very safe but is it safe to use the ATMs at night?

Generally, Korea is quite a safe country, however, people are people. Robberies do happen here, so use common sense. If you’re withdrawing funds, best to do it in a well-lit area where there is constant foot traffic. There is always a spike in robberies, including bank robberies and home break-ins just before major holidays such as Chuseok and Lunar New Year when people are expected to give expensive gifts to family and superiors.
