I don't always want to hail a taxi on the street. Can I call for one?
Yes, you can. To call a regular taxi dial 1588-0082 or 1588-3382 or 1588-2382. Please note that the operators do not usually speak English and that it is not always possible to explain how to get to your home. You may have to agree to met at a specific and easily recognized landmark. By 2011 almost all taxis are equipped with GPS, but that is not yet the case. There is a W1000 fee over and above the meter cost if you call rather than hail a taxi.
It is also possible to call a deluxe taxi via 02-1566-3030 or 02-3431-5100 (again Korean-only usually).
