Is it true that everyone should have a business card in Korea? I'm not working, do I need to have one also?

Yes, you should have your own ‘name’ card, whether you are working or not. These are used to help people to know how to contact you and for Koreans, it’s a help in being able to say, or even remember, your name. Many people also put a map showing how to reach their house/apartment since Koreans have traditionally not used street addresses. There are a couple of places in Itaewon where you can have cards made. If you have worked with either a relocation company or with a realtor, they will often have a set of cards made for you, at no cost. Regardless of how you have the cards made, be sure that the information is correct (you may need to proofread it more than once) and that the map will enable someone to find you – Koreans often only put ‘important’ streets on their maps.
